The Remnants of Memory

Each moment, we are alive, we remember the one before. It's the basis of our life. Everything is determined by what, how, who, when and why we remember. Without our memory, we are pretty much blank, without a consciously driven direction. But,as helpful as 'it' is, in directing our paths, it is just a detrimental to our lives. We have no way of experiencing each fresh second, that we are alive, without colored memorized distortions. As something as simple as a tree, because we remember a tree, immediately labeling the branched object before us, we miss the sensory new experience of encountering the tree.
